Peter Galgut qualified in 1971, and gained a MSc with distinction in Periodontology in 1983. Subsequently he obtained the MRD (Membership in Restorative Dentistry) and also the MFGDP of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He was awarded a MPhil in acknowledgement of his research in biomaterials and wound healing. In addition, he has a Diploma of Dental Homœopathy awarded by the Faculty of Homœopathy at the Royal National Homœopathic Hospital, London.

Dr Galgut established this practice devoted entirely to the treatment of periodontal conditions, and preventative care. Concurrently he was the Director of the School of Dental Hygiene at University College Hospital. At present he is a Senior Research Fellow at the Eastman Dental Institute, and a lecturer at London University.

Dr Galgut lectures and leads seminars on Periodontology and has published over a hundred papers relating to his research. Dr Galgut is also the primary author in a recently published text book on periodontics entitled "Periodontics: Current Concepts and Treatment Strategies", Martin Dunitz, London, 2001, ISBN: 1-85317-981-7.

Dr Galgut retains membership of the British Society of Periodontology, the American Academy of Periodontology, the International Academy of Periodontology, the Western Society of Periodontology and the British Dental Association, to ensure that recommended treatment reflects the most up to date trends in current thinking in Periodontology.
